ATIR Workshops
Our lectures and workshops offer theoretical and practical knowledge in the use of art therapy in the assessment and treatment of toddlers, children, and adolescents. Directive and non-directive methods of treatment based on developmental, psychological and neuropsychological theories are presented for effective, culturally sensitive therapy.
Lectures and slide case presentations will demonstrate the practical application of art therapy with those who have been victims or have witnessed acts of violence, accidents, physical and sexual abuse, and those who have experienced loss.
All workshops are limited to 10 participants to offer a unique, intensive training opportunity. Workshops are designed to offer a variety of learning opportunities for beginning and advanced level art therapists and other masters level mental health professionals.
In addition to lecture and case material, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in non-threatening experimentation with a variety of art media to learn methods of facilitating and containing expression, promoting self-discovery, insight, and change. All art experiences are designed to be safe and private, and no prior art training is required.
All workshops held at Redwood Valley unless otherwise indicated.
